Wall to Wall

By default, messages are posted to the user's own wall. Messages can also be posted to the walls of friends, pages, and groups for which the user has write permission.

Recipients can be found by browsing all the users Facebook friends, pages, or groups; browsing user-defined friend lists; or searching for them by name.

Posts to pages for which the user is an administrator are submitted as official posts from the page itself, instead of the user. This ensures that messages are delivered to fans who may ignore other fans' posts.

Details

Many of the recipient options require users to grant extended permissions to Emoti. The app asks for a given permission when the user first performs an action requiring it. If the user declines to grant permission, the action is cancelled. Should the same action be attempted again, permission will again be requested.

When a list is displayed, the recipients' profile pictures are downloaded and filled in as they become available. Pictures are cached, but updated every time the recipient list is displayed. The scroll view's motion is kept smooth by suspending downloads while it is being dragged or decelerating and resuming them as soon as it stops. The download queue gives cells that are currently visible a higher download priority than those that are off screen.
